About The Spot Renton

The Spot Tavern has been whetting whistles in the Renton area since JFK was president. Although the format has evolved over the years from a rough and tumble roadhouse in the 60’s to cabaret dancing and card-room in the 70’s to a sports bar with large screen TV’s and classic video games in the 80’s, one thing has remained the same… The Spot has been a favorite local gathering place for over 60 years!

The Spot was always a lively place. In the late 60’s it was rumored the closing bartenders would shoot their guns for target practice after closing… INSIDE the bar! Another fun fact is that before the Green River levees were built in the 60’s, the Kent valley would flood so the only way customers could get to The Spot from the west was by rowboat. Also, before IKEA and the business park across the street were built, that area was mostly a marsh where Spot customers would duck hunt for dinner! Things have settled down over the years, so just relax and please let us know how we can make your visit more comfortable or enjoyable!
